Professional

Experience:

I have spent the last 5.5 years and over 5,000 hours dedicating my life to helping others. I spent my traineeship working at a non-profit agency from 2016-2020. Here, I was able to work with a variety of different clients with different challenges. Throughout the process, I was able to determine the particular clientele I prefer to work with. I found myself enjoying couple's work to help with communication issues or recovering from past trust issues or infidelity. I also found enjoyment working with individuals/teens struggling with anxiety, depression, self-esteem/self-worth, boundary issues, and any type of relationship issue. Working with clients, I have found that I have an immense amount of compassion and understanding. I meet my clients where they are at while gently challenging them to help reach their goals.

As my traineeship came to an end, I became a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in 2020 and decided to embark in Private Practice. I started my practice during the pandemic and while it was an uncertain time for many, I am grateful that my practice has flourished. I give credit to the compassion and dedication my clients see from me, as well as my clients commitment and hard work to reach their goals.

Philosophy:

As my experience has grown over the years, I found myself developing a philosophy for helping clients reach their goals. I believe change cannot occur without developing insight of self. I believe in order for a client to reach their goals and become a better version (self-actualize) of themselves, they have to learn how to build awareness within ourselves. It is necessary to become cognizant of our thoughts, emotions and behaviors. Developing a deeper understanding of these connections and how they impact the way we treat ourselves, others and how we perceive the world is crucially important. I assist clients in putting all the pieces together to help make connections and develop a deeper understanding of what makes them unique while challenging unwanted behavior.

Personal

When I am not working, I am generally spending time with family and friends.

The two most important people in my life are my husband and son. My husband and I are highschool sweethearts and have been married for over 15 years now. He is my rock and a wonderful part of my support system. We have a beautiful 7-year-old son who keeps us busy and entertained. When we aren't spending family time at home, we are looking for family activities to bond and create memories.

I love all things outdoors (unless it's in the dead of summer in California)  and try to get out, explore, and try new things with family and friends as frequently as I can.

A passion of mine is dance. I LOVE dance and music. It has always been a core part of who I am. So much so that I decided to become a Zumba instructor for a few years.

My life philosophy would be something like, time is fleeting and moments can never be replicated, enjoy the moments you can with the ones you love, it happens all too quickly.

Hope this gives a you a little understanding and background about me!
